Marared allows you to truly disconnect, relax, and engage with the natural surroundings. Watch the sun dancing across the water as you settle in front of a fire pit with a glass of local wine, enveloped in the cosy, intimate atmosphere of our carefully designed gypsy hut.
Experience glamping at its finest, with a fully equipped kitchen, en-suite shower room, cosy double bed, wood-burning stove and a host of additional amenities included to make your stay as comfortable and carefree as possible.

We’ve also ensured your stay is as convenient as it is luxurious. Towels, bed linen, complimentary fair-trade teas and locally sourced coffee and a fully fitted kitchen with all the essentials are included to give you the perfect stay. Enjoy your favourite music on the Anker SoundCore mini bluetooth speaker & radio and stay warm with our rapid heat water heater and towel radiator. We also provide local handmade goats' milk soap and shampoos.

Outside, your personal space extends with seating, table and a fire pit/BBQ, perfect for unwinding as you watch the sunset over the tranquil lake.

Who was Marared?
MARARED (Margaret), daughter of Llywelyn the Great, married John de Brewes in 1219. She was widowed when John was killed by a fall from his horse near Bramber, Sussex shortly before 16 July 1232. She then married Walter de Clifford in 1234.

After her first husband’s death in 1232, Marared married Walter de Clifford of Clifford, Herefordshire, Cortham (in Diddlebury), Shropshire, Caenby, Lincolnshire, Bronllys, Breconshire, Sheriff of Herefordshire, Constable of Cardigan and Carmarthen Castles, son and heir of Walter de Clifford, of Clifford, Herefordshire, by Agnes de Cundy, daughter and heiress of Roger de Condet of Caenby and Glentham, Lincolnshire c. Nov 1234.
Marared and Walter had one daughter:

Maud (Matilda) de Clifford, who marred (1) William Longespée, Knt., (2) John Giffard, Knt., 1st Lord Giffard (John Giffard had abducted her.)
Walter de Clifford died December 1263 (shortly before 23 Dec 1263). Marared survived him and was still living in 1268.
On her death, her heart was buried in the church of Aconbury, Herefordshire.
